Ferrous sulphate or sulfate, also known as iron (II) sulphate, is an inorganic salt that is used as precursor to obtain iron compounds. This salt was used in the Middle Age as copperas and green vitriol. The Ferrous Sulphate is offered in custom requirements at reasonable rates and occurs as blue/green or white crystals. Ferrous sulphate or sulfate is mainly present in nature as heptahydrated salt. Ferrous sulphate salts tend to lose or gain water molecules depending of the medium. In water, ferrous sulfate salts are hydrolysed, forming the aqua complex [Fe(H2O)6]+2.
